What makes Azonomy different comes down to three simple things.
Every stone has been inspected and identified by a qualified gemologist.
You receive the gemstone in the photographs. Not a similar one, not a grade average, that exact stone. For makers designing around a specific colour, cut or character, that matters.
And it’s pre-owned. Most of the gems I source have been recovered from old jewellery, or retiring jewellers’ collections. But regardless of the source, what they all have in common is individuality, and a readiness for their next chapter.
Meet the Team
Jackie – Gemmologist
I’ve been captivated by the colours and sparkle of gemstones for as long as I remember, but it never crossed my mind when I was little that I could make them my career. Roll on a ahem few years and I taught myself jewellery making. I absolutely loved getting to play with all that sparkle (I think I might have an inner magpie), but it still didn’t quite scratch my gemstone itch. There was nothing else for it, I had to go back to school and train as a gemologist.
Now I get to spend my days sourcing, identifying and preparing gemstones. Every stone that comes through Azonomy passes through my hands, ensuring it’s ready to be paired with your creativity.
Outside of gems I’m passionate about making Azonomy a genuinely sustainable business, which is why pre-owned and reclaimed stones are at the heart of what I do. These wonderful gifts from nature still have so much more to give.
Rob – Assistant
Rob is my hubby and behind-the-scenes support. Without his patience and unwavering belief in me, Azonomy wouldn’t exist.
Aside from his support, and reining me in when I get another ‘amazing’ idea, he helps out with a range of jobs. Most notably doing the postal runs so I can keep everything else ticking over, and keeping me fuelled with coffee!
